Getting settled
by Hill (words between “ ..” are comments from my lovely husband)
And here I am sitting in our wonderful, great, outstanding dream house while the sun is shining on the deck and writing to you guys how our last few days have been. By the looks of it you would think just great and actually I can’t agree other then (1) Getting used to a normal work day (2) Not having a job – hunting them down as I speak, even though it’s really difficult task if you don’t even know what you want to do! (3) Wanting to sleep in a normal bed and a few other odd things you come across when leaving everything behind, quitting a job and having to create your own working area and time.
One other thing I want to mention is that we’re really so happy with the helping hands and the kindness and generosity of Eelco & Ebba who just help us where they can. Thanks to them it’s not hanging, sitting and working on the floor any more. We have the best ever outdoor seats and Ebba’s lovely walking working table (“a walking fridge!”). And to top it of they gave us the most important equipment when living in Australia……yes yes it’s a 1 time only guess……..you MUST (and for those who don’t like the word must you’ll have to endure this one) NOT forget the BBQ!!!
The BBQ: a wonderful piece of equipment so you can invite loads of friends -hmhm, working on the part making some new friends – and have the best meats and fish made on it! Because I haven’t got a job yet and Ro’s very flexible (“am I?”) we have done some nice sightseeing.
Been to the lovely Sunday markets (“I am so flexible not to work on Sundays”) for our fresh fruit, veggies and there are lots of other nice stands were you can buy stuff. It was a sort of back into time feeling; a relaxed, we have got all the time of the world vibe and don’t forget while making this picture in your mind to put on the ring ting ting woodstockish music sound. Wonderful to be on your Sunday if I may say so :-)!
Walking along the beach, through the Woody point (that’s how our area is called) streets and even lending a helping hand to an older couple who got stuck with their car when making a round about turn, phoning up the RACQ (ANWB). Driving (after a very good car check- up and repair :-( she got a bit sick (“a she? It’s a monster!”) but luckily there was Brett who fixed her up wonderfully!) through our suburb and looking for the best skateboard areas hihi but we have to be very careful for our neighbour and also land/ house owner is a policeman. This is why we are gonna get us a beautiful skater helmet.
Next week, if everything works well, we will finally have Internet acces in our house so we don’t have to fight over the Vodafone internet USB stick. ..
And here are some photos of our new house. But I think we should make a small movie next time to make it more clear.
Would love to hear how you all are doing work-, social-, health-, weather- (gna gnaha), etcetera wise.
Lots of love and enjoy soaking up our sunny pictures!
